Motherhood, a journey of love.

Being a full-time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs in my field, since the payment is pure love. ~Mildred B. Vermont

I am feeling especially blessed this week, and agree wholeheartedly with the quote above. I have experienced pure love X4! My days are filled with big huge hugs around my neck, kisses, pretty pictures painted just for me, and little girls calling me mommy, telling me I am thier "favorite" and sharing all their joys and dreams with me! How did I ever get this lucky? Motherhood is challenging, but it is worth so much more than even the highest paying job I have ever had. Thankfully I have the Lord to guide me in this most important task! Without Him, I would be lost! Even on those stressful days, I can look back when I fall into bed exhausted and see the blessings. There is not a day that goes by that I have not been hugged countless times, and literally squished with love from my girls. All 4 of my girls are so generous with the love they give. I am humbled beyond measure. I hope that I can always pour out as much love to them that they always offer me. Sweet baby kisses, squeals of joy, laughter and love. This mother's heart is full.

Miss Lilyann!

I love this girl!
This is her "school" picture. I just love how it turned out.
She is almost finished with preschool! She got a report card a few weeks ago, and I was so proud of her, as she recieved "outstanding" marks in every single area!
She still calls me her rainbow.
She still says "I love you mommy" numerous times a day, and calls herself my little heart.
She gives me stickers with rainbows and hearts on them and says "that's you and me, mommy!"
She brings me dandelion bouquets from the yard, and lovingly hands them to me saying, "these beautiful flowers are for you, mommy"
She is precious, absolutely precious, how did I deserve such an amazing child?
Thank you Lord, for Lilyann.

Ooooh...A new favorite BLOG!!!

Last night at our monthly homeschool moms support group, we continued our discussion of a book I read a few years ago, when choosing a method of homeschooling. It was all about the Charlotte Mason method, and I loved it, and I believe it played a huge part in my falling in love with homeschooling. Yes! I am in love with homeschooling...and one reason is that when using the Charlotte Mason method of homeschooling, you realize that you are not engaging in just the role of "teacher" to your children, but you are embracing an entire lifestyle, with your family, and I am head over heels in love with my family!
I think when I first read the book, I was mostly inspired, and my eyes were open to what "educating" your children really could look like and be. It's not anything like the box I was educated in, in public school. It was more about finding out what drives our individual children, how to inspire them, and how to facilitate a passion for learning in our children. Not just a passion for learning the basics, but a passion for  life, nature, and God .

I cannot wait to read this blog. We discussed Mother Culture last night at our meeting, and I shared this quote from the book :

"Mother's should cultivate their souls, that in turn, they may cultivate the souls of their children",  Billy Graham.  I love that! And, to see it on this blog, got my heart skipping a beat just a bit.

This author has so many nuggets of wisdom to share. I highly recommend the book, "A Charlotte Mason companion", which you will see on this blog. It is where my homeschooling journey began, and it is something that I hope will continue to carry us through.

Go check out this blog, read about "mother culture, be inspired, and be blessed!

THIS blog will no doubt become a favorite of mine, and a regular place to visit!
